Local-first saved objects — waypoints, routes with elevation profiles, recorded tracks, GPX in and out.
Everything you save lives on your device first — IndexedDB in the browser, SQLite on mobile. No account is needed, and the field workflow never depends on connectivity. Signing in adds sync across devices; it doesn't change where your data lives.
Waypoints
Drop a waypoint anywhere; edit its color, kind, and notes. Waypoints render on both web and mobile identically and travel through sync and GPX.
Routes
Draw a route and OpenHunt samples an elevation profile under it from the same DEM the terrain layers use — total gain, loss, and the shape of the climb before you commit to it in the dark.
Tracks
Tracks are recorded on the mobile app — hit record and hunt, screen off. The web app is the analysis side: recorded time, duration, moving time, and average and max speed over the elevation profile.
GPX import and export
Waypoints, routes, and tracks round-trip as GPX, so nothing is locked in: bring your history from another app, or take OpenHunt data to a handheld GPS. Import happens entirely on your device.
Sharing
Share a waypoint or route as a link. Share links resolve without an account, show view counts, and can be revoked at any time.
E-scouting
3D terrain, Terrain Lens, viewshed and line of sight, and elevation profiles — the glassing trip you take before you leave the house.
The Android app
OpenHunt for Android on Google Play — offline map packs, background GPS track recording, an offline viewshed, and the same map and account as the web.
